1960

The Church is Established

Bro. Robert Elkins, from New Castle, Indiana, became the first pastor. The first building was located on New York Dr.

1962

A New Home on Ballard Rd.

The church purchased 1 acre of land at 3920 Ballard Rd. and built a new church building.

1976

Room to Grow

A larger building was constructed to accommodate the growing congregation.

1987

New Pastors

Rev. Les and Kathy Bruce were voted to be the new pastors of the church in Fort Myers.

1989

A Season of Transition

The church building was sold.

1989 – 1991

Villas Community Center

The church began holding services at the Villas Community Center while trusting God for the next chapter.

1991

A Place to Build

Purchased 6 acres on Plantation Rd. — the property the church still calls home today.

February 2002

Construction Begins

Ground was broken and construction began on the current sanctuary.

The Doors Open

Construction was completed and the new building opened for worship.

Pastor Phil & Taylor Locke

Reverend Phil and Taylor Locke were voted to be the pastors of Apostolic Praise Tabernacle.
